Regarding 4C

The brilliance of a diamond is evaluated based on four criteria, known as the 4Cs:

Carat (weight)

Color (color)

Clarity (transparency)

Cut (shape and polish)

These standards were devised by the GIA (Gemological Institute of America), established in 1931.

Carat

Carat

Carat refers to the weight of a diamond. For every 0.1 carat increase, the size increases by 0.6mm to 0.8mm. The 1 carat in the M Anela ETERNITY Collection weighs 0.2g and is approximately 6.5mm. Large diamonds are scarcer than small diamonds due to fewer rough stones available, and their rarity and value increase with size.

Color

Color

Diamond color is typically graded on a 23-step scale, with colorless Ⅾ as the highest grade, followed by Ｅ to Ｚ based on their hue. The closer a diamond is to being colorless, the higher its value; the more yellowish it becomes, the lower its grade. All diamonds from M.Anela that come with a certification are F color or higher.

Clarity

Clarity

The clarity of a diamond is determined by the number, size, position, and type of inclusions and blemishes present within or on its surface. Clarity is graded on an 11-point scale by examining the diamond under 10x magnification with a microscope or loupe. Diamond clarity is crucial when selecting jewelry as it affects the brilliance.

⚫︎VVS1-VVS2: Extremely slight inclusions
⚫︎VS1-VS2: Very slight inclusions
⚫︎SI1-SI2: Slight inclusions
⚫︎I1-I3: Prominent inclusions

Cut

Cut

The cut determines the beautiful brilliance and sparkle of a diamond, and is graded on the following five levels:

⚫︎ "EXCELLENT"
⚫︎ "VERY GOOD"
⚫︎ "GOOD"
⚫︎ "FAIR"
⚫︎ "POOR"

The higher the quality of the cut, the greater its rarity.
